GENERAL
INFORMATION - Arctica 3200
The
Arctica 3200 series of RTU’s combines the
features of a PLC and a Datalogging unit and are designed to operate
in an extended temperature range. There are two versions; the
Basic version with 4 digital/counter inputs, 4 relay outputs and
4 high precision analog inputs; and the Extended version, which
can be delivered with 16 additional analog channels and 24 additional
digital inputs. All digital channels have LED state-indication.
|
On both unit there are three standard RS232 communication ports
and one RS485 port. The communication ports can be configured
for different transmission speeds upto 38600 baud and as standard
support the Arctica System protocol, Modbus RTU (master, slave
and repeater) or a user defined protocol. Display, transmitters,
I/O modules can easily be connected to Arcticas’s communication
ports using standard protocols or a special protocol can be defined
using ArcticaTool.
A
number of RTU’s can be connected in a local multi-drop network
using Modbus RTU protocol. Arctica can be monitored using normal
telephonemodem, GSM-modem, radiomodem or satellite communicator.
The store-forward-repeater function makes it possible to access
all units in the mulit-drop network from one Arctica unit. Also
external equipment connected to a communication port on one of
the Arctica units in the network can be accessed directly from
the SCADA system through the network.
The RTU has a datalogging capacity of 50,000 logs with time-stamp
- the logs can be separated in 64 log-channels. The Arctica
