GENERAL INFORMATION - Arctica 1600

The RTU 1600 has an exceptional low energy consumption, is designed for operation in a wide temperature range and combines the features of a PLC and a data-logging unit. The unit is typically used for monitoring and control tasks at very remote locations and can communicate via radio, telephone, GSM or Satellite systems. Because of the low power consumption and the wide temperature range the RTU can be used in Solar driven applications even at high latitudes.
Control programs can be written using a IEC61131-3 programming Tool. Both sequential control programs as well as analyzing and calculation functions can be written in a standard programming language.

Arctica 1600 has 8 digital inputs, 8 digital outputs, 8 analog inputs and two serial communication ports. All digital I/O’s are galvanically isolated and protected from interference. Internal tranzobs and filters protect the RTU’s from electrical disturbances. While in sleep mode, the current consumption is less than 1 mA @12Vdc.
When there is a need for further I/O’s, several Arctica or Modbus RTU units can be linked together in Master/Slave configuration using the RS485 port. The RTU can be installed in a standard 19-inch rack.
